Each interview is around 1 hour long and generally follows the same list of questions to get varying anecdotes, opinions, and reactions from our participants on their experience inside Michigan prisons. Although certain details may repeat from account to account, each conversation is unique and offers new insights.
On the following pages, the audio from these interviews are posted along with the names of the interviewees, the facility they were at during COVID, and some of the themes discussed.
All interviews were conducted by Natalie Albrecht and recorded in person, over Zoom or over the phone. Another big thank you to our participants for being willing to offer their time and stories for the purpose of this project.
